• In 2022 Samuel Reyes joined the Law Office of Calixtro Villarreal, Of Counsel. Under the supervision of Attorney Calixtro Villarreal, Samuel drafted a Motion to Suppress based Res Judicata and Collateral Estoppel challenging the admissibility of drugs that were illegally seized in violation of the client's 4th Amendment rights. There were misdemeanor drugs and felony drugs seized and the misdemeanor court had previously found that the search was illegal. The felony Court granted the Motion to Suppress based on collateral estoppel, finding that the misdemeanor court's ruling that search was illegal should be honored in the felony court. All drug evidence having been suppressed as "fruit of the poisonous tree", the felony charges were subsequently dismissed in January of 2023.
